Mapping

General

GSD

The Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) is the distance between two consecutive pixel centers measured on the ground. The bigger the value of the image GSD, the lower the spatial resolution of the image and the less visible details.

Route Settings

Camera

The size of CCD sensor, size of the photo and the focal length determine the resolution of mapping mission.

Terrain Follow

The aircraft will fly at a constant relative height to the ground of each waypoint.

The Home(Take off) Location must be set properly when the Terrain Following Mode is on.

The ground elevation data are provided by a third-party service. Data accuracy varies by area.

Double Grid

Generates two vertical grids for the 3D mapping mission.

Quarter Turn

The turn rule between two route.

Area Insets

The insets of each route.

Split Route(Corridor Mission Only)

Split mission into sub missions to ensure a single scan route line does not exceed max route length.

Max Length(Corridor Mission Only)

The max length of a singl scan route line.

Width(Corridor Mission Only)

The width of the corridor, which can represent the width of a river, valley or road.

Heading

The initial heading of the route. Default is 90°, from east to west.

Front Overlap

Along the route direction, the overlap of the imaging range of two consecutive photos.

Side Overlap

The overlap of the imaging range of two adjacent route.

Gimbal Pitch

The pitch angle when taking photos.

Trigger Mode

Safe

Aircraft will stop at each waypoint and take photo, then go to next waypoint.

Flying in a strong headwind environment, the aircraft may not be able to actually reach the waypoint, and may not be able to perform photo-taking actions, and may stop in the air and be unable to move forward. Please pay attention to the weather conditions (no wind on the ground does not mean no wind at high altitude).

Fast

Aircraft will accelerate and turn at the start and the end of each route.

Turn Radius = 0.2m:Aircraft will stop and take photos at the start and the end.

Turn Radius > 0.2m:The aircraft will not stop at the start and the end, but transitions to the next waypoint in an arcing turn. When the aircraft flies between the start and the end, it will take photos at equal intervals based on the distance it has flown.
